Tamil Nadu to expand breakfast scheme to Classes VI-VIII from September 17
Tamil Nadu will expand its breakfast scheme to students in Classes VI to VIII starting September 17, coinciding with the birth anniversary of social reformer E.V. Ramasamy, popularly known as Periyar. The expansion aims to improve nutritional support for middle school children across the state.
The breakfast initiative, previously limited to primary classes, will now cover a broader student population. The announcement underscores the government's focus on addressing student welfare and ensuring adequate nutrition for school-age children.
