AIADMK, DMK governments failed to promote SC/ST scholarship schemes: CAG

A Comptroller and Auditor General report has found that both the AIADMK and DMK governments in Tamil Nadu gave insufficient publicity to scholarship schemes meant for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students.

The lack of promotion resulted in eligible SC/ST students being unable to access these benefits, according to the CAG's findings. The report highlights gaps in how successive state administrations communicated information about the welfare programmes to their intended beneficiaries.

The issue underscores implementation challenges in reaching vulnerable student populations despite government schemes being in place.
