Tamil Nadu to open new college for women from minority communities
Tamil Nadu will establish a new college dedicated to women from minority communities, according to a state minister. The initiative aims to expand educational assistance to Muslim girl students beyond Class 8, providing access to higher education.
The state plans to create a dedicated MBC (Most Backward Classes) Welfare Board at a cost of ₹3 crore to support the initiative. The move is intended to improve educational outcomes and opportunities for women from disadvantaged minority backgrounds in the state.
