Tamil Nadu raises cooperative crop loan waiver limit to ₹75,000 for all farmers

The Tamil Nadu government has revised its cooperative crop loan waiver scheme, raising the limit to ₹75,000 and extending coverage to all farmer categories. Under the revised plan, marginal farmers numbering 8,33,773 will receive waivers worth ₹3,599.67 crore, while 5,16,183 small farmers will benefit to the tune of ₹1,995.42 crore.

Large farmers, comprising 93,548 individuals, will also be included in the scheme and receive waivers amounting to ₹337.15 crore. The expanded waiver programme aims to provide relief across the farming community in the state.
