Tamil Nadu seeks strong start in Ranji Trophy 2026-27 against Rajasthan

Tamil Nadu will take on Rajasthan in their opening fixture of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season, aiming to break free from a recent barren patch in domestic cricket. The encounter holds historical significance, as Rajasthan was Tamil Nadu's opponent in the 2011-12 Ranji final, when both teams competed for the prestigious title.

Both squads will be eager to translate this fixture into a launching pad for a strong campaign. Tamil Nadu hopes the new season will mark a turnaround after a period of underperformance, while Rajasthan will seek to build momentum early in the tournament.

The fixture sets the tone for what both teams aim to achieve this season. Success in the opening match could provide the confidence and impetus needed to mount a serious challenge for the Ranji Trophy title.
