Multi-agency rescue operation saves tanker with 9,000 tonnes of palm oil off Odisha

A coordinated rescue operation by multiple agencies averted a potential maritime incident when the tanker Sea Gull 9 experienced engine failure off the Odisha coast. The vessel, carrying 9,000 tonnes of palm oil and a crew of 23, was successfully brought to Paradip port following the intervention.
The timely response prevented what could have developed into a major environmental and safety crisis given the cargo volume and crew strength aboard the distressed ship.
