Technical Fault At BEST Substation Causes Hour-Long Power Outage At BMC Headquarters

A technical fault at a BEST electricity substation located at Rang Bhavan in Dhobi Talao caused a power outage at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters and nearby buildings on Monday afternoon. The supply was disrupted between 11:45 am and 12:36 pm.

According to BMC officials, the outage affected air-conditioning systems and electronic devices during routine office operations. Power was restored within 15 to 20 minutes after repair work was completed at the substation.

The BMC's Disaster Management Cell remained unaffected throughout the outage, as its diesel generator backup system ensured continuous operations for emergency response activities.
