Delays in Tejas combat jet programme hurting IAF: Air Chief Marshal

Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh has expressed concern over delays in the Tejas combat jet programme, stating that the slowdown is affecting the Indian Air Force's operational readiness. The Air Chief stressed the need to accelerate indigenous fighter jet production to meet IAF requirements.
Singh said India is working to finalise the Medium Range Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) deal by the end of the current financial year, contingent on developments proceeding as planned. The MRFA procurement is intended to bolster IAF's fighter fleet strength in the medium term.
