Telangana Six-Murder Case: Main Accused Found Dead Days After Alleged Family Massacre

The man accused of carrying out a brutal six-person killing in Telangana's Rangareddy district was found dead on Monday, bringing an end to an intensive police search that had continued for several days. Investigators suspect the accused died by suicide, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after post-mortem and forensic examination.
The deceased, identified as P. Rajkumar (35), was discovered in an area falling under the jurisdiction of Kothur Police Station. Local residents alerted authorities after spotting a body, prompting police to rush to the scene.
According to investigators, a bottle believed to contain insecticide or pesticide was recovered near the body, while froth around the mouth led officials to suspect poisoning. Family members later identified the deceased as Rajkumar.
Police allege that Rajkumar was responsible for the murder of six people on the night of July 10, including his wife, two children, a minor girl and two members of the girl's family. The killings shocked the state because of the brutality involved.
Investigators said Rajkumar had been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act earlier this year after the minor girl's family accused him of stalking and harassing her.
According to the police investigation, shortly after the alleged murders, Rajkumar contacted his father and reportedly confessed to the killings. He allegedly informed his father that he intended to end his own life before switching off his mobile phone. His parents subsequently alerted the police.
Following the incident, Telangana Police launched a massive manhunt by forming 12 special teams to trace the absconding accused. The search concluded after his body was recovered on Monday.
Police have initiated legal formalities and are continuing the investigation to establish the exact sequence of events surrounding both the alleged murders and Rajkumar's death. Authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report and forensic findings before confirming the cause of death.
