Telegram Founders Pavel and Nikolai Durov: The Brothers Behind Global Messaging Platform

Telegram, a cloud-based messaging service launched in 2013, was founded by brothers Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov. The platform has grown into one of the world's most popular communication apps, known for its emphasis on speed, privacy features, and secure messaging across multiple platforms.
Pavel Durov, born in 1984 in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), serves as CEO. Often called the "Russian Mark Zuckerberg," he previously founded VKontakte (VK), Russia's largest social media platform in 2006, before leaving due to disagreements with authorities over user privacy. Nikolai Durov is a Russian computer programmer and mathematician who collaborated with his brother on Telegram's development.
