Tesla to unveil next-generation Roadster on October 1

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the electric vehicle maker will unveil its next-generation Roadster on October 1. The announcement comes nearly a decade after Tesla first showcased plans for a successor to its original sports car in 2017. Tesla's official X account posted the date, with Musk confirming the unveil.
The Roadster project has faced repeated delays. Tesla initially said deliveries would begin in 2020, but the timeline has been repeatedly postponed. According to reports, the redesigned vehicle is being developed as a carbon-fibre hypercar after the company abandoned an earlier approach based on Model S Plaid components.
Musk has described the new Roadster as something special beyond a normal car launch. Reports suggest the unveil event could feature a demonstration of a limited-edition version equipped with cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX, potentially taking place at SpaceX's test facility in Texas.
