Three bonded labourers rescued in Tamil Nadu district

Three bonded labourers have been rescued from a workplace in Kalasthambadi, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu. The victims—K. Viji (25), his wife V. Sasikala (23), and his brother K. Surya (19)—were forced to live in small huts without adequate access to drinking water or sanitation facilities.
The workers were made to labour for more than 15 hours daily under exploitative conditions. The rescue marks an intervention against bonded labour practices, which remain a persistent issue in parts of India despite legal prohibitions.
