TMC's Abhishek Banerjee appears before Bengal CID over inflammatory statements

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee appeared before Bengal's Criminal Investigation Department in connection with an FIR filed against him for allegedly making inflammatory statements. The case was registered a month earlier following a complaint by social activist Rajib Sarkar at Baguiati Police Station in North 24 Parganas district.

The complaint was filed on May 5, a day after the state assembly election results were announced.
