A group of 20 rebel TMC MPs, including Jadavpur MP Saayoni Ghosh, wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday claiming they have merged with the NCPI, a political party formed in 2022. The move is seen as an attempt to consolidate their support for the NDA.
