Trump shares 'Newsmakers of the Year' cover with Modi after bilateral talks

US President Donald Trump shared a cover image from India Today magazine on Friday featuring himself and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, titled "Newsmakers of the Year 2025" with the caption "The mover & the shaker." The post came a day after the two leaders held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France.

During a media briefing following their meeting, Trump praised Modi as a tough negotiator and expressed optimism about trade discussions. "He's a very tough negotiator, one of the toughest, actually," Trump said, adding that New Delhi and Washington are "very close" to finalizing a trade deal.

On defence cooperation, Trump stated the US would support India if it faced security threats or came under attack. The bilateral engagement reflects ongoing efforts by New Delhi and Washington to strengthen their relationship.
