UN Chief backs Modi's push for UNSC reform

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's longstanding demand for reform of the UN Security Council. Guterres said the UNSC needs to be reshaped to reflect the world of today rather than remain frozen in the post-World War II structure.
Modi has consistently pushed for UNSC reform, arguing that India and other nations deserve permanent seats on the Council. The support from Guterres, the UN's top official, lends weight to India's position on restructuring the global body to accommodate emerging powers and current geopolitical realities.
