Uttar Pradesh leads in domestic tourism, followed by Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan
A national Tourism Survey conducted between July 2025 and June 2026 found that Uttar Pradesh received the highest share of domestic visitor-trips, followed by Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. The survey covered over 2.46 lakh households across the country, excluding villages in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The findings reflect tourism patterns across India's major destinations during the survey period. The data provides insights into domestic travel trends and visitor distribution across states.
