Uttarakhand police file FIR over Kharge's 'shuddhikaran' remarks

Uttarakhand police have filed an FIR against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over his "shuddhikaran" (purification) remarks, more than a month after the statement triggered a controversy. The FIR was filed following a complaint related to the remarks made during his visit to the state.

Kharge's comments had drawn criticism from various quarters at the time. The delayed police action on the matter has now been initiated by the Uttarakhand police authorities.
