Uttarakhand Media Delegation Studies Wildlife Conservation and Urban Growth in Chhattisgarh

A media delegation from Uttarakhand, led by PIB Dehradun's Assistant Director Sanjeev Sundriyal, visited Nandanvan Zoo and Safari and Nava Raipur in Chhattisgarh on the fourth day of a five-day study tour organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The delegation toured Nandanvan Zoo and Safari, a 320-hectare complex spread across 800 acres that houses 43 wildlife species including white tigers, Asiatic lions, leopards and gharials. The facility features a 50-hectare zoo, a Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, and separate safari zones for herbivores, bears, tigers and lions developed across natural habitats. The zoo aims to promote tourism while supporting wildlife conservation, research and environmental awareness.
The journalists then visited Nava Raipur to observe the planned urban development of the modern city, examining infrastructure, road networks and traffic systems designed to balance growth with environmental considerations.
