Vice President Radakrishnan launches INS Samarthak, Navy's first indigenous multi-purpose vessel

Vice President C.P. Radakrishnan launched INS Samarthak at Karwar, marking a significant milestone for India's naval capabilities. The vessel is the first of its kind to be entirely designed and constructed domestically by Indian shipyards.
INS Samarthak is a multi-purpose naval platform equipped to handle various operational roles. The commissioning reflects India's growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing and shipbuilding technology.
The launch underscores the government's push toward indigenous defence production and reducing dependence on foreign naval assets. Karwar, on India's west coast, serves as a major naval base and shipbuilding hub.
