CM Vijay clarifies gesture in Stalin row, denies body-shaming intent

Tension escalated in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday between Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and opposition DMK over former CM M.K. Stalin's arrest under MISA during the Emergency. When Vijay raised questions about Stalin's detention, opposition members interpreted his hand gesture near his jaw as mocking Stalin's old injury sustained during that period, accusing him of body-shaming.
Vijay subsequently issued a clarification on social media, stating his body language was unintentional and not deliberate. He said his gesture during his response on the police department's grant request was inadvertent and requested that it not be viewed as an attempt to hurt anyone's personal feelings.
