Only openers' spots are permanent: Gambhir's clear message

India head coach Gautam Gambhir has backed the decision to promote Shivam Dube to No. 4 in the batting order, despite the all-rounder's underwhelming performance in the second T20 International against the West Indies in Ranchi. Dube scored seven runs off 10 balls before being dismissed by West Indies off-spinner Roston Chase.
Gambhir stated that India would continue to adjust the batting lineup based on match situations and conditions. He clarified that only the opening positions in T20 cricket are considered permanent fixtures, with other batting slots remaining flexible depending on the team's strategic needs.
