Wife kills ex-serviceman for 2 crore insurance claim with lover's help; 9 arrested in Karnataka

A sensational murder conspiracy has been uncovered in Karnataka's Belagavi district, where a 46-year-old former soldier was killed to claim a 2-crore rupee insurance payout. The victim, Sandeep Kalagaudi Manjargee from Ghodgeri village, suffered minor injuries in a bike accident on March 13 but died at JJ Hospital on March 15. Initial reports attributed death to cardiac arrest.
Police arrested the victim's wife Suma, her alleged lover Pundlik Vitthal Dombar, and 7 others including an FSL officer and hospital staff. The conspiracy unraveled when Dombar posted a social media video claiming Sandeep was murdered, following a dispute with Suma over money distribution. Investigation revealed Dombar and Sandeep had started a food stall together after the latter's military retirement, where Dombar and Suma developed an illicit relationship. Police allege they conspired to eliminate Sandeep for insurance proceeds.
