World Mental Health Day 2026: Celebrities, PM Modi Share Quotes on Mental Wellness

World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health, challenge stigma and encourage people to seek support. The day underscores that mental well-being is as vital as physical health and that no one should face emotional struggles alone.
Several Indian celebrities have publicly discussed mental health, sharing personal experiences and advocating for self-care and professional help. Deepika Padukone has said, "It's okay not to be okay as long as you're not giving up" and "The more we talk about mental health, the less it will be considered a taboo." Hrithik Roshan credited therapy, stating his productivity and peace stem from years invested in mental health support.
Other public figures including Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Karan Johar, MS Dhoni and Nita Ambani have similarly advocated normalising mental health discussions and seeking appropriate medical assistance. PM Narendra Modi also emphasised the importance of mental well-being alongside physical health.
