Worli Residents Seek Stricter Traffic Enforcement Over Rising Violations

Representatives of the Worli Resident Association and Area Local Management, representing over 450 residents, met with the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and a traffic expert to raise concerns over traffic violations, reckless driving and safety issues.
The delegation highlighted chronic problems including wrong-side driving by two-wheeler riders beneath the Annie Besant Road flyover, chaotic conditions at the China Bistro junction, and signal violations by BEST buses at key intersections. Shared taxis and commercial vehicles were cited for indiscriminate stops and reckless driving.
Residents urged deployment of additional police personnel, stricter enforcement, removal of encroachments and appointment of a nodal officer for the locality. The Joint Commissioner directed his team to examine the specific grievances raised.
