Yuvraj Manchanda murder: Rs 90 lakh cheque, fake threat and plot to kill Adani Realty manager

Police have uncovered a complex plot in the Yuvraj Manchanda murder case involving a Rs 90 lakh post-dated cheque and fabricated threats. Yuvraj Manchanda, a 31-year-old manager at Adani Realty, was allegedly killed by his former colleague Anya Vats and her live-in partner Sanyam Sachdeva on September 6 inside a white Creta in Gurugram's Sector 70. His body was later dumped in a drain. According to Delhi Police, the murder was linked to a cheque Anya had issued to settle a cheating case involving a senior Punjab National Bank official.
Investigators allege that on September 2, Anya lured Yuvraj to Roots Cafe in Gurugram's Sector 29 by discussing cheap flat deals in Pyramid Society, Sector 70. During their meeting, she gathered details about his finances—bank accounts, planned loans, and funds from family and friends. She also obtained his phone password and accessed his bank account statements under the pretext of facilitating a property transaction. Police claim that with money unavailable to settle her cheque, Anya targeted Yuvraj and fabricated threats to involve Sanyam in the scheme.
Yuvraj, Anya, and Sanyam had all previously worked at real estate developer Emaar. Police alleged that Anya was fired in 2022 over financial mismanagement while managing side-deals with Sanyam for extra income. The two had begun their relationship at Emaar before eventually leaving the company.
