‘1,000 Missiles Are Locked and Loaded’: Trump Warns Iran After Assassination Chants at Khamenei Funeral

Fresh tensions have erupted between the United States and Iran after US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Tehran, saying the American military was fully prepared to retaliate if Iran acted on threats made during the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The latest escalation comes as hopes of preserving a fragile ceasefire continue to fade following days of military exchanges and growing uncertainty over maritime security in the Gulf region.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed the US had placed significant military assets on standby in response to hostile rhetoric emerging from Iran.
"1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat," Trump wrote.
He further warned that the United States would "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran" if Tehran carried out any attack against American interests.
The warning followed reports that chants calling for Trump's assassination were heard during public gatherings linked to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral, further deepening tensions between the two countries.
At the same time, Washington has stepped up pressure on Iran over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest energy shipping routes.
Senior US officials have demanded that Tehran publicly guarantee the safety of international commercial vessels passing through the waterway. However, Iranian authorities have reportedly declined to issue such an assurance, maintaining that they retain control over the passage and should have the authority to regulate ships using the route.
The disagreement has intensified concerns over global energy supplies, as the Strait of Hormuz carries a substantial share of the world's oil exports.
The latest diplomatic standoff follows a week of escalating military action in the region. The crisis intensified after attacks targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz triggered American airstrikes on Iranian targets, followed by retaliatory attacks attributed to Tehran against US-linked interests across the Middle East.
Although international efforts have sought to prevent a wider regional conflict, the exchange of threats from both sides has raised fresh doubts over whether the temporary understanding between Washington and Tehran can survive.
With military forces remaining on high alert and negotiations showing little progress, the situation continues to pose significant risks for regional stability and global shipping.
