CM Adhikari Announces Development Projects in Nandigram, Says 'Chief Minister for Everyone'

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday announced several developmental projects across Nandigram, including initiatives in health, infrastructure, connectivity, housing, education, agriculture and social security. Inaugurating the projects, Adhikari specifically highlighted work in minority-dominated villages such as Mohammadpur, Shamsabad and Kendamari.
Addressing the public, Adhikari stated: "Even if you didn't vote for me, I am Chief Minister for everyone." He emphasized that approximately 30,000 migrant workers in Nandigram blocks 1 and 2 would now benefit from free medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat across the country. Adhikari also highlighted that 67,000 women received funds under the Annapurna Yojana in August.
The Chief Minister criticized former CM Mamata Banerjee for allegedly engaging in vendetta politics following her defeat from Nandigram in the 2021 Assembly elections. Adhikari noted that he had secured death certificates of seven Nandigram agitation martyrs through the High Court after they were withheld during the TMC government's tenure.
