AI Express flight from Kannur returns to Kerala after engine warning mid-air

An AI Express flight departing from Kannur airport in Kerala returned to its origin on Sunday after encountering an engine fault during mid-flight operations. The aircraft, carrying over 180 passengers, had taken off at 7:40 am bound for Jeddah.

Approximately two hours into the journey, pilots detected an engine warning light on the cockpit display. Following standard safety protocols, the flight crew decided to return to Kannur airport, according to airport sources.
