Doctors cannot escape mandatory service bond after subsidised PG education: Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court has ruled that doctors cannot evade mandatory government service bonds undertaken after receiving subsidised postgraduate education, even if administrative delays occur in posting them.
The court held that a mere administrative delay in providing a posting would not extinguish a doctor's bond obligation. The judgment also faulted how a petitioner was denied counselling, highlighting procedural lapses in the system.
The ruling clarifies that doctors who benefit from subsidised PG education are bound by service commitments, and delays in government action do not release them from these legally binding obligations.
