Andhra Pradesh charts plan for round-the-clock power supply amid climate challenges

Andhra Pradesh has unveiled a roadmap to ensure 24/7 quality power supply amid El Niño-related challenges. The state plans to procure 1,600 MW of thermal power through tariff-based competitive bidding to bolster its generation capacity.
As part of the strategy, developers have been mandated to maintain a minimum 15-day coal stock to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply. The state's distribution companies have also been directed to prepare a comprehensive 12-month power supply plan to anticipate and manage demand fluctuations.
