Andhra Pradesh defends Adani data centre allotment without auction on public interest grounds

Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has defended the allotment of land for a 1000 MW data centre cluster in Vizag to Adani without a competitive auction process. The state argued before the Andhra Pradesh High Court that the project represents a potential game changer for the state's Information Technology landscape.
The defence comes as the allotment method has drawn scrutiny, with the state asserting that the strategic importance of the venture justifies the non-auction approach in the interest of public welfare.
