Andhra Pradesh faces severe rainfall deficit amid monsoon season

Andhra Pradesh is grappling with a significant rainfall deficit during the critical monsoon months of June to August. The state received only 197.6 mm of rainfall against the normal expectation of 424.1 mm for the period, marking a substantial shortfall.
The deficit rainfall poses serious concerns for agriculture and water resources in the state. With monsoon-dependent farming being central to Andhra Pradesh's economy, the below-normal precipitation could impact crop yields and water availability for irrigation across the region.
