Andhra Pradesh RTC unions oppose private e-buses, depot land lease
Transport unions in Andhra Pradesh have announced protests against privatisation of electric buses and leasing of depot land by the state roadways corporation. The Joint Action Committee of APSRTC unions has scheduled red-ribbon protests for June 23 and 24.
The unions are demanding that APSRTC directly purchase and operate electric buses instead of engaging private operators. They have also called for recruitment of 10,000 staff members and addition of 4,000 buses to the fleet.
