Asia experiences extreme heat, heavy rainfall and glacier loss in 2025: WMO

The World Meteorological Organisation's annual report shows that Asia faced severe climate challenges in 2025. Average surface air temperatures across Asian land areas ranked between the second and fourth warmest years on record.

The region also experienced extreme rainfall events and significant glacier loss during the year, highlighting the accelerating impacts of climate change on the continent.
