Assam govt invokes NSA against activist opposing Kaziranga hotel project

Assam authorities have invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against activist Pranab Doley, who was arrested on July 12 following protests at Ingle Pathar village near Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.
Doley had been demonstrating against a proposed hotel project in the area. The use of NSA—a preventive detention law—against the activist has raised questions about the state government's handling of environmental and civic dissent.
