Badrinath Dham records 17.79 lakh pilgrims in 2024, surpassing previous highs

Badrinath Dham has experienced a surge in pilgrimage, recording over 17.79 lakh visitors as of September 22, 2024. This footfall surpasses the previous annual record set in 2023, marking a significant recovery for the shrine.

Visitor numbers have rebounded following declines triggered by the 2014 disaster and the Covid-19 pandemic. The government is strengthening facilities and safety measures to handle the rising number of devotees visiting the sacred temple.
