BCCI is preparing to make changes to the IPL 2027 schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to bring major changes to the IPL schedule. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia suggested that the board is seriously considering changing the IPL calendar to protect players and spectators from the intense heat and pre-monsoon rain.

Under the plan, the 2027 IPL season will begin around March 10 instead of the last week of March and will conclude by May 15. This step has been taken to ensure a more suitable climate during the tournament.
