Bengal govt to shut down 250 madrasas by December over lack of students and infrastructure

The West Bengal government has announced plans to shut down 250 madrasas by December this year, citing lack of students and inadequate infrastructure. The institutions will be permitted to continue classes until the deadline to accommodate the small number of students currently enrolled.
The closure decision comes as part of the state's review of educational facilities across unrecognized institutions.
