Bihar braces for floods as major rivers swell; all 69 Sone Barrage gates opened
Bihar is on high alert following heavy rainfall that has caused major rivers to swell across the state. Authorities have opened all 69 gates of the Sone Barrage at Indrapuri in Rohtas district to facilitate water flow and control the flood situation.
The barrage opening is a precautionary measure to prevent water overflow and manage the rising levels in the Sone river, a major tributary in the region. Officials are monitoring the situation closely as more rainfall is expected in the coming days.
