Karnataka Government 'Harassing' People Over Ganeshotsava: BJP

The BJP has accused the Karnataka government of harassing devotees during Ganeshotsava celebrations. BJP leader Ashoka cited an alleged police conversation in T Narasipur, claiming devotees were instructed to avoid taking processions in front of mosques, abstain from bursting crackers, and refrain from dancing. The party said authorities had directed people to conduct only silent processions.
The allegation comes amid ongoing tensions over religious festival celebrations in Karnataka. The BJP framed the restrictions as an infringement on devotees' rights to celebrate the festival traditionally.
