Char Dham Yatra suspended for two days amid severe rain alerts

The Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage in Uttarakhand has been suspended for two days following severe weather warnings issued by the meteorological department. Red and orange rainfall alerts have been declared across multiple districts of the state for September 26 and 27.
The suspension aims to ensure the safety of pilgrims visiting the four sacred shrines. The weather alerts indicate heavy to very heavy rainfall expected during this period, which could create hazardous conditions on mountain routes.
The two-day pause in the pilgrimage reflects authorities' precautionary approach to protecting devotees from the dangerous weather conditions anticipated across the state during this period.
