Churches put up 'Enter at own risk' signs as Chhattisgarh anti-conversion law takes effect

Churches in Chhattisgarh have begun displaying warning boards at their entrances as a precautionary measure following the implementation of the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act, 2026. The notices are intended to restrict entry to non-Christians and avoid potential action under the newly enforced anti-conversion law.
According to Diamond Philus, general secretary of the Dhamtari District Christian Forum, the boards serve as a protective step for Christian communities. The state's anti-conversion legislation aims to regulate religious conversions, and church authorities have adopted this approach to ensure compliance and prevent legal complications.
