Chilli exporters push Andhra Pradesh to ban high-risk pesticides

The Chillies Exporters Association has called on Andhra Pradesh to ban Acephate and Methamidophos pesticides, citing growing risks to India's chilli exports to China. The move comes after China tightened residue standards, rejecting shipments that exceed compliance limits.
Exporters warn that continued use of these high-risk pesticides could jeopardise the state's chilli trade with its largest buyer. The association has urged state authorities to impose restrictions to protect the export sector from further trade disruptions.
