China Plus One strategy has failed; India couldn't catch up, say Chinese commentators

Chinese commentators have argued that the 'China Plus One' strategy—an effort by global companies to diversify manufacturing and reduce dependence on China—has largely failed, with India unable to emerge as a viable alternative.
The strategy, aimed at spreading production across multiple countries to mitigate supply chain risks, was expected to boost India's manufacturing sector. However, Chinese analysts contend that India has not been able to attract sufficient investment or scale up operations to replace Chinese manufacturing capacity.
