CJP Announces Portal to Identify Police Personnel Over Protest Crackdown, Plans Legal Action

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday said it will create an online platform to collect evidence against police personnel allegedly involved in the crackdown on demonstrators during the July 20 protest in Delhi, signalling that it intends to pursue legal proceedings over the incident.
Speaking to supporters, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the proposed website will allow protesters to upload photographs and videos of police officers whom they accuse of using excessive force during the march. He claimed the party would verify the material, identify the officials concerned and initiate legal complaints.
Das said the organisation would first seek the registration of FIRs against the identified officers. If the Delhi Police does not act on the complaints, the party plans to approach the courts to seek directions for criminal cases to be registered.
He alleged that peaceful demonstrators were subjected to excessive force during the protest and claimed some participants sustained serious injuries. Das further accused certain police personnel of assaulting protesters and said the party would continue pursuing legal remedies against those found responsible.
The announcement comes as the CJP continues its nationwide campaign over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy. According to Das, the organisation has expanded its agitation beyond the national capital and called for peaceful demonstrations across the country.
He claimed protests were being organised in more than 150 cities and districts, with supporters holding rallies and gatherings in urban as well as rural areas. The party maintained that the movement would continue through peaceful means while pressing for action on its key demands related to the examination controversy.
The July 20 protest has remained at the centre of political and legal debate, with allegations and counter-allegations over the handling of demonstrators. While the CJP has accused police of using excessive force and vowed to seek legal accountability, the matter continues to attract attention as the broader agitation over the NEET paper leak enters a new phase.
