Cochin Shipyard lays keel for Navy's next generation missile vessels

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has laid the keel for the first Next Generation Missile Vessel (NGMV) as part of a contract with the Indian Navy signed on March 30, 2023. The shipyard has a total of six such vessels in its order book under this agreement.

The NGMV programme represents a significant step in India's naval modernisation efforts, enhancing the Navy's operational capabilities. The vessels are expected to strengthen India's maritime defence infrastructure.
