Congress Approaches Court to Block Khairatabad Bypoll, Challenges Aruna

BJP Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna alleged on Sunday that the Congress party, fearing defeat in the Khairatabad bypoll, had moved court to stall the election. Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office in Nampally, Aruna accused the Congress and BRS of encouraging defections and indulging in "cheap politics." She questioned the Congress's rationale for approaching the court, asking, "If the Congress is confident of winning again, why does it fear facing the people."
Aruna pointed out that the Congress had strongly opposed defections while in Opposition but had "shamelessly" admitted BRS MLAs after coming to power. She challenged all defected MLAs to resign and contest the bypolls, stating that those who had won on the BRS symbol should seek a fresh mandate if they had the courage. She alleged that defected MLAs were now unable to tell people which party they represented.
The BJP leader expressed confidence that her party would win the Khairatabad bypoll, recalling that the BJP had earlier won the Assembly seat. Aruna claimed that people in Khairatabad were unhappy with both the Congress and the BRS, alleging that the two parties had damaged the state's development and pushed it into a debt trap. She also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was providing substantial funds for Telangana's development without discrimination, and appealed to people to teach both parties a lesson in the coming bypoll.
