Congress moves legislators to resort ahead of Karnataka council polls

The Congress Legislature Party in Karnataka has decided to house its legislators in a resort near Bengaluru to secure them ahead of the state assembly council (MLC) elections scheduled for June 18, 2026. The party aims to prevent cross-voting and alleged poaching attempts by opposition parties.
Following a Congress legislative party meeting on June 16, lawmakers will be accommodated at Wonderla Amusement Park resort, approximately 28 kilometers from Bengaluru, and transported directly to the assembly on polling day. The decision comes as seven council seats are contested by eight candidates across Congress, JD(S), and BJP.
Cross-voting has emerged as a critical factor that could influence election outcomes, prompting Congress to take preventive measures to safeguard its legislators during the crucial voting period.
