Congress wins five of seven Karnataka MLC seats in early test for CM Shivakumar

Congress won five of seven Karnataka Legislative Council seats in elections held recently, marking an early political victory for Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The party's strong performance in the MLC polls demonstrated its electoral strength in the state.

Shivakumar stated he had anticipated the seats would be filled unopposed initially. However, both the BJP and JD(S) chose to contest the elections, leading to competitive polls across the seven vacancies.
